Re: Hidden Tracks

Hmm. Two tracks numbered 1. I've got to think about that. The metadata geek in me is just screaming "noooooooo" but that may be the best solution. The other idea I've been toying with is just put track 00 as the last track on the CD (so if there are 12 tracks, track 00 becomes track 13 with a note t...

Re: Relationship on Artist Lookup Screen

I like those screens, but I tend to mostly use the actual tables much more than the explorer views.

Hidden Tracks

Just curious as to how people have handled hidden tracks in the pregap sequence of CDs (in other words, track 0). CATraxx doesn't appear to support a track lower than track 1. But if I record track 0 as track 1, then the numbering for other tracks won't match the track order on the CD track list. Su...

Relationship on Artist Lookup Screen

So I am (once again, it's bee a few years...) starting over from scratch. This time, I'm really trying to focus on better quality data and more focus on artists. One thing that I noted is that if I list several relations for a artist, they are displayed oddly in the Artist Lookup screen. So, for Bil...

Re: Link between authors and housenames

Just wanted to let you know that I haven't forgotten about this issue. I've been buried in seemingly never-ending meetings all week and have barely had time to come up for air and food, let alone BookCAT.

Re: Series of Double Volumes

I'd probably do it this way: For the title: Title of Book 1 / Title of Book 2 Then I'd list each author. If you have a bunch of books like this, you might choose a role for the author like "Contributor" or "Author of Included Book". Then I'd include each separate "book" within the contents of the ov...

Re: Musichi

I also use MusiCHI. The last version (6.1) is from late 2017. I recently asked the developer if it was still under development and he said that it was and that a new version would be coming soon (though "soon" was several months ago). He said that it was a stable mature program that didn't need upda...

Re: Housename / Real author

If I recall (though it's been a while since I've encountered this problem), I usually used something similar to your first approach. I would list the "author" and use the role "Pseudonym" with the name of the real author on the next line with the role "Ghostwriter". Then, in the information dialog f...

Re: Going back to CATraxx?

Simple, though inelegant solution: Convert all of your DSF files to .mp3 (even a low bitrate for faster conversion), then scan the .mp3 files in CATraxx. Once the data is in, you can delete the .mp3 files. Or, better yet, I'm sure that someone on this forum can help you build a SQL query to change t...
