Re: Community version of FNprg products

crazyforjags wrote:I start to worry, probably like many of my fellow users, especially since Microsoft forces now the move to Windows 10 (where Cats work fine, thanks God AND Fredrik)
It also works flawlessly under Linux/Wine.

All in all, I would like to see a move in this direction. Any volunteers? :)

Hello!
Did you have any opportunity to further work on this project? Any updates/news?

Re: Anyone use Dropbox and FNPRG programs?

Yes, I am using CATraxx on two PCs and database is located in Dropbox folder. CATraxx locks the database file and Dropbox waits patiently till it's safe to sync. I haven't noticed any problems with this setup, but I am always make sure: 1) At the start of the session I wait till Dropbox has finished...

Re: CATraxx on Linux

More good news: I installed HAPbirthDates via Wine and it works! You can select your database file, press Start then open your CATraxx and the info will be there in the Explorer View. Updating birthday info also works by pressing the corresponding button in CATraxx.

Yay!!!

Re: CATraxx on Linux

Now I can elaborate. Here is how you make CATraxx 9.x work on Ubuntu 16.04 LTS: perform these commands in order on a fresh Ubuntu install (Internet connection is required). If you had installed Wine before, rename or delete the ~/.wine directory. It will delete any programs you had installed in Wine...

Re: Classical CATraxx

I updated my previous message with new xsl template. Now it will correctly open the classical work info in separate window when you click the work's title in audio player. I am such a noob in this :)

Re: Transfer album data to another database

You can mark the album(s) you want to transfer then use menu command File - Transfer and select target database file. Use option Albums - Marked to include only needed albums in the transfer. Help button is there to describe the rest of the options available.

Re: CATraxx on Linux

After several attempts CATraxx worked on Ubuntu! I do not know exactly what helped, but the general idea was: 1) install latest Wine build - 32 bit prefix (!!!) I haven't been able to make it work in 64 bit Wine. Look for instructions on Wine website. 2) install Winetricks 3) sh winetricks jet40 (it...

Re: Classical CATraxx

What I have added to this approach is changing the AudioPlayer.xsl file as well: this bit <!-- ======================================== --> <!-- Displays Work info --> <!-- ======================================== --> <xsl:if test="/data/record/trackdata/custom05!=''"> <tr> <td class="audioplayer_fi...

Re: CATraxx on Linux

I got as far as installing CATraxx on Ubuntu 14.x/Wine 1.9.x combo without any error, but it would not run because it said it could not start the DAO engine. Installing DAO component did not help.
I am stuck. I am in no way an experienced Linux user, so I thought someone has surely tried it as well.
