Windows 10

Postby DougWilliams » Thu Aug 20, 2015 2:31 am

There have been a number of reports that the CAT programs work under Windows 10.
I can confirm that they do work when Windows 10 is an upgrade from Windows 7, 8, 8.1.
There have been some reports that a new install of Windows 10 will cause the CAT programs to fail. I am waiting for more information on those fails to see what the problem may be.

If you have had success or failure running the CAT programs on Windows 10 please let us know here.

Went from 8.1 to 10 with no problems whatsoever.

I just upgrade a second older machine from Windows 8.1 to Windows 10. The CAT programs still run with no problems.

I have yet to hear updates on NEW installs of Windows 10 and the specific problems that are being had.

Eventually I plan on doing a fresh install of Windows 10 on at least one of the two PCs that I have already running Windows 10, but I want to make sure I haven't missed anything.

I know on the most recently updated machine, Adobe Audition 3.0 said it was inactivated and wouldn't start. I had to reinstall and a couple of tweaks later I had it back.

Similarly, no problems here, one upgraded from 8.1, one upgraded from 7, both seamless from a Catraxx point of view. One problem with outlook but a quick fix found and fixed the problem.

Hi

I updated to Win 10 64-bit and get an error now on CatVids about a missing DLL everytime I try to access a record. I will investigate further (was rather late last night when I detected this)

Cheers
Gernot

PS: thanks Doug for the new forum

Hi,

found the problem. Catvids did not find the internet DLL in its normal place. I moved it to the directory of the exe and got rid of the error

Hi Gernot

Was this with a new install or did you upgrade to Windows 10?

Hi Doug,

this happened after the update to Windows 10 and after CatVids loaded a new internet DLL
