Printing inlays

Post by McTell » Thu Apr 23, 2020 9:28 am

Hi together,

I'm using CATraxx for many years now.
After revisiting my old cassette (MC) collection and recording/mixing tapes again for the first time in over 10 years,
I was wondering if there's a way to print inlays directly from CATraxx for my tapes.

Searched a lot but couldn't find the right answers.

Can anyone help with this?

Thanks,
Sammy

Hello Sammy,

If by inlay you mean j-card, then yes. I've attached a compressed RPT that should help. Customize to your needs.
If you mean the label that covers the actual cassette, that's a yes too but you'd have to create a custom report for that.

Works thanks.

How do you do a printing for 2 albums (one on each side A and V) on the inlay?
Tried to get that running, but had no solution.

Unfortunately the current report can't handle splitting the media.
Two ways as I see it.
1) Clone the album needed to print. Clone for each album. Update the album title (Tape 1/Tape 2) and remove the appropriate tracks. Print.
Then delete the cloned albums.

2) Create a NEW report but make it as a Track report and group appropriately.
In theory this should work but I've never actually tried.

Don't think this would work, maybe printing in two ways on the same sheet of paper.
In general it was normal to have two different albums on one cassette.

NOW I understand what you are asking!

I was thinking one album across two tapes. You want two albums on one tape.

Let me think on it. I could use such a report too.

I haven't come up with a way yet without cloning and merging the two albums and tweaking the new album.
