read the cover images in the database
read the cover images in the database
I know that the images of the CD & LP-covers are put in the database, but it is no link to the images. I would like to know how the cover images are put in the database and how I can read and view them from the access database without using Catraxx.

Re: read the cover images in the database
Without creating a program you can't.
However you can save the images outside of the MDB and CATraxx will create a link.
TOOLS > DATABASE MAINTENANCE > EXTRACT IMAGES
It uses the path/filename setup in TOOLS > AUTO-ORGANIZE IMAGE FILES
** Please make a backup of your database before trying this.**

Re: read the cover images in the database
Is the "AutoOrganizeImageFiles.dat" file in the same folder as the license file?
In my system it is and it is with the other .dat files CATraxx uses (ReportMenu, SearchMenu, SitesMenu, Statistics, etc)

Re: read the cover images in the database
Hmmm..
Check that the TOOLS > OPTIONS > DEFAULT FOLDER > IMAGE FILES has the same folder/path.
But it seems like it's a permissions issue as both errors indicate "can't create".

Re: read the cover images in the database
good morning Doug,
I think you are right! I have a lot of problems installing programs or even working with some apps as my Window Defender seems to block a lot ... (Libreoffice and others give erors).
Could and should I turn off Windows Defender?

Re: read the cover images in the database
I turned off Windows Defender Folder Protection and now everything seemps to work fine.
All images are now stored in a folder.
And the database has now only links to these images, I suppose.
